Cheryl Andrews started dancing at the age of 4 under the direction of Joy Sharp. Her dancing continued through high school as she became captain of the drill team. She then attended Northwood University where she earned a bachelor of business. In 2001 Cheryl became a member of Dallas Desperados Dancers in their inaugural year. Then was honored to spend 3 years as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. She performed with artists such as Toby Keith, Destiny's Child, Cheryl Crow, Big n Rich, Jason Aldean, Neil McCoy, & Journey just to name a few. Cheryl has appeared in several TV shows and commercials. During this time she still maintained her love and passion for Fantasia Dance & Arts as a choreographer, director and owner. She began the studio in 1995 and still resides there today.
Callie Sims was born and raised in the Dallas area and currently resides in Rockwall, TX. Growing up she danced under the direction of Joy Sharp. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. Her Fantasia Dance & Arts journey began as a “dance mom” in 1999 and she took over the hip hop program in 2002. In 2006, she began her position as the studio manager. As studio manager and assistant director, she is able to share her passion of dance with all of the students and their families. She assists in multiple classes, choreographs competition routines and performs the managerial tasks for the studio. Callie is committed to maintaining a fun filled, family friendly atmosphere where memories are made at Fantasia Dance & Arts.
Crystal Weir began her dance career as a student at the legendary, Texie Waterman Dance Studio. Taking dance and acting classes alongside LeAnn Rimes, gave her a vision for the future. Upon high school graduation, she was selected from 1200 women to be a part of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders at just 18 years old. She had a 4 year career (02'-06') with the DCC. Crystal spent two years in Korea for Christmas entertaining the troops along with filling her passport with places such as Iceland, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Japan, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico just to name a few. Crystal has appeared on a variety of national televised shows, including The View, several news stations, HBO Hard Knocks and CMT Making the Team. In her dancing career, she's performed with some of the top entertainers such as Beyonce, Big & Rich, Neil McCoy, Jason Aldean, LeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith and Gary Allen. Crystal is the Fantasia Dance & Arts Team Director, teaches team classes, recreational classes and is the certified instructor for the acro program.
Renee Wommack began taking ballet at age 5 under the direction of Marie Christine DeMonye at Repertory Dance Theatre in El Paso, Texas, where she studied the Cecchetti Method. She graduated from Andress High School and began attending El Paso Community College where she continued her ballet and modern dance education taking ballet and dance history under the direction of Norma Glass. While at EPCC she choreographed for the annual shows as well as performed as a soloist. She also studied under the direction of Ingeborg Heuser at the University of Texas at El Paso. Renee continued her ballet and modern dance career at international Dance Theatre under the direction of Kendal Cherry Beasley, where she also studied the Bill Evans method of modern dance. Renee has performed in many shows including, The Diary of Anne frank, Beauty and the Beast, Canyon Scape, The Nutcracker and several Holiday Gift Programs. Today, she continues to share her love of ballet and modern styles of dance and choreographs and teaches children of all ages. Renee has been the principal ballet instructor at Fantasia Dance & Arts since 2004.
Tina Jefferson McNeil is a Texas native who began dancing at the age of three and was trained in a variety of styles. She was a competitive dancer for most of her childhood winning numerous awards with of competition team at Broadway Dance Center. Tina has had the opportunity to train at various studios in DFW and across the country some including Dallas Ballet Center in Dallas and The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. In high school Tina was captain of her JV drill team the Dixie Darlings, a two year lieutenant for the Southern Belles and was also a three year Strutter. After graduating high school in the top ten percent, Tina went to the University of North Texas where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. At UNT she performed in many of the student and faculty concerts, attended and performed at the American College Dance Festival gala and was casted for the restaging of Bebe Miller’s piece Blessed. Tina has been teaching for Fantasia Dance & Arts since 2012 and has a love and passion for dance and working with children. She currently teaches competition team classes, technique and dance combos for all ages.
Caila Sturdivant began her dance career at Fantasia Dance & Arts at age three. She is trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, pom, hip hop and contemporary. She danced competitively for 14 years and was a varsity cheerleader at Sunnyvale High School. She also had the honor of being a Jr. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for 3 years and performed in numerous halftime productions. After high school, Caila was selected to be on the professional dance team Texas Star Dancers. She performed at many community and charity events and also visited local nursing homes during the holidays. Her extensive training and love of dance led her to audition for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and she was selected at the age of nineteen. She had a 2 year career (14’-16’) as a DCC. While on the squad she had the opportunity to teach junior dance camps, perform at several venues and participate in children’s hospital visits (her favorite)! In her dance career, Caila has performed with several top artists such as, Carrie Underwood, Demi Lovato, Pitbull, Luke Bryan, Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow and Rascal Flatts. She has made television appearances on CMT Making The Team, Fox Sports and Good Morning Texas. She is back at Fantasia Dance & Arts and sharing her love of dance with children of all ages teaching competition teams, hip hop and technique classes.
