Make sure all hats are secured with elastic. Make sure each dancer is wearing the correct tights with each costume and the correct dance shoes. It is a great idea to make some kind of a checklist and set out everything you will need about a week prior to the recital. You may put some kind of make-up on your dancer so that their faces do not get “washed-out” from the stage lights. Make-up is at your discretion. No gum on stage. ABSOLUTELY No food or drinks in the auditorium. Parents are responsible for dressing their children. When you arrive at the auditorium, follow the signs to your designated dressing room. A copy of the program will be on the wall directly outside of the stage entrance—make sure the dancers are lined up outside of the stage entrance six- (6) dances prior to their performance. Feel free to watch the show in between your child’s dances, but make sure the dancers are lined-up in time to perform. (Parents are responsible to make sure their dancer is in line—it is not the responsibility of the Fantasia staff members.) The show will not wait for any student who is not in line. Make sure dancers are quiet and tap shoes remain still in the hallway while waiting to perform. As soon as the dancers finish their performance, they will be led off of the stage and a parent must be present to pick each dancer up. ALL dancers will receive a participation award and some dancers will receive a duration award. Make sure they are back stage ten (10) minutes prior to the END of the show. A list of duration awards will be posted at the studio May 17th. Please check to see if your child’s name is present for any awards you feel he/she should be receiving this year. Also, check the rough draft of the recital program which is posted on the studio bulletin board to see how many dances he/she has between performances. We do our best to make sure you have at least three dances between performances. Videography will be provided by Thaddeus Films. Please stay seated during the show out of respect for the other audience members. You may video your child’s performance, but we ask that you remain seated. This includes filming from your smart phone. Flash photography is not permitted. Please remember the better prepared you are the more enjoyable the event will be for everyone. Understand the staff will be very busy running the show and although they would love to help you in any way they can, this is not always possible. Any questions need to be addressed before the date of the show. The studio will be closed beginning June 4th in preparation for the shows. Try to respect everyone around you since we are all present at the recitals to enjoy our children’s accomplishments. Check with the Fantasia Dance and Arts office to make sure your balance is current and you have not forgotten to pay any fees.No child will be allowed to participate in the recital unless balance is current. All account balances must be current by June 3rd or your child will not be allowed to perform. Last day of classes is June 3rd.
. Summer dance classes are offered June 7th – August 13th. Fall classes begin August 30th.
